Amor Vitae SICILY is located
on the first floor of
a semi detatched house
of the end of the '60s.
The house has a beautiful terrace with a view on the sea
and looks out to a cosy little square.

The house consists of:

2 Master Bedrooms, each one with a queen-size bed and a big wardrobe
1 Living Room with an artistical refreshing blue wall, a large sofa
and comfortable armchairs
1 fully equipped Kitchen
2 fine Bathrooms with sea toned tiles and big showers
1 wide Terrace with view on the sea

THE VALLEY OF THE TEMPLES

Just 10 minutes away by car from the apartment, The Valley of the Temples is an exceptional historic testimony to Magna Graecia’s presence in Sicily. It was inserted onto the UNESCO World Heritage List in 1997. Extending over approximately 1,300 hectares, it recounts a millenary history that began in the 6th Century B.C. The actual core of the archaeological site of Agrigento lies in the area of the magnificent Temples: the Temple of Zeus, which was one of the biggest Greek temples in Antiquity; the temple of Hercules; the Temple of Castor and Pollux; the Temple of Hephaestus; theTemple of Isis; the Temple of Athena, today part of the Church of Santa Maria dei Greci. Amongst all, the best-preserved is the Temple of the Concordia, probably the most impressive Greek Doric temple still existant nowadays.

TURKISH STEPS

Located just 10 minutes away by car from the apartment, the "Scala dei Turchi" [Turkish Steps] is an outstounding blinding white jewel that frames the clear blue Sicilian sea. It is a natural incredible cliff of white marl that you can fully enjoy only once you are there. It is a fascinating place, where centuries of rain and wind have carved a natural staircase and whose white color is made more dazzling by the sunlight. Besides a natural features, The Turkish Steps is also a local legend from which its name comes from. It is said that the Saracen pirates (the "Turks", which is a negative connotation that indicates all the people that were once devoted to piracy), docked ships in these calm, clean waters, and climbed these natural "steps" to reach the top of the cliff to raid local villages.
